In 1872 the Ridola Family had this summer residence built in one of the healthiest area in Matera.
Now the Relais Ridola is available for people who wish to spend a comfortable and relaxing holiday in Matera, not far from UNESCO World Heritage "Sassi" and Downtown.
It has been completely restored in 2005 and includes six rooms and two suites, 24 beds in all. A free outdoor surveilled parking lot is available for each room.

The Ridola Relais includes 2 suites and 6 rooms, 24 beds in all.
Each room has its own peculiarity: those facing south are painted with fresh colouring being bluish (turquoise and violet), while the ones facing north have warmer colouring being yellowish (ochre and apricot)
The fittings, which offer an absolute comfort, are a snappy mix of old furniture of the same period as the residence and of innovative elements of modern design.

The ideal temperature in each room is provided, through a thermostat, by an exclusive heating and cooling system running under the floor which keeps the temperature constant without any introduction of noxious airflows. This innovative air-conditioning system is usually used in private houses but not in accommodation facilities. The Relais Ridola aims to create a homely and friendly atmosphere for the guests. Moreover the over one metre thick perimeter walls guarantee the thermal interchange with the outside. The very pleasant breeze coming from the sea directly to the arbour makes the hottest days enjoyable and relaxing.

Much attention has been paid to the idea of “rest”.
The mattresses have a number of springs double compared to the traditional ones and the nets have more slats. Sheets and towelling are selected. Each bed in each room has two feather pillows. An orthopaedic pillow is available on demand.
The courtesy kit includes prime rate bars of soap, foam bath, body lotion and personal soft soap with security seal.
The showers are large and comfortable. The hydro brush, the suspended bathroom fittings and the modern taps and fittings guarantee the utmost hygiene. The hairdryer is efficient and comfortable.
